ACM Symposium on Applied Computing Data Streams Track in conjunction with the 27th Annual ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (Rome, Italy)
The rapid growth in information science and technology in general and the complexity and volume of data in particular have introduced new challenges for the research community. Many sources produce data continuously. Examples include sensor networks, wireless networks, radio frequency identification (RFID), customer click streams, telephone records, multimedia data, scientific data, sets of retail chain transactions, etc. These sources are called data streams. A data stream is an ordered sequence of instances that can be read only once or a small number of times using limited computing and storage capabilities. These sources of data are characterized by being open-ended, flowing at high-speed, and generated by non stationary distributions.
Data streams are increasingly important in the research community, as new algorithms are needed to process this streaming data in reasonable time. Many researchers coming from different areas (data mining, machine learning, OLAP, databases, etc.) are designing new approaches or adapting some of the traditional algorithms to data streams. The number of researchers in this field also is growing considerably, and in many conferences data streams are becoming a consolidated topic (ICML, KDD, IJCAI, ICDM, SAC, ECML, etc).

ICDE 2012 - IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (Washington, DC, Germany)
The annual IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE) addresses research issues in designing, building, managing, and evaluating advanced data-intensive systems and applications. It is a leading forum for researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences. We invite the submission of original research contributions and industrial papers, as well as proposals for workshops, panels, tutorials, and demonstrations.
- Abstract submission: 2012/07/12
- Paper submission: 2012/07/19
- Conference: 2012/04/01 - 2011/04/05
EuroSys 2012 (Bern, Switzerland)
The EuroSys conference series brings together professionals from academia and industry. It has a strong focus on systems research and development: operating systems, data base systems, real-time systems and middleware for networked, distributed, parallel, or embedded computing systems. EuroSys has become a premier forum for discussing various issues of systems software research and development, including implications related to hardware and applications.
- Abstract submission: 2011/10/14
- Paper submission: 2011/10/20
- Conference: 2012/04/11 - 2012/04/13
The purpose of ICEIS is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the advances and business applications of information systems. Six simultaneous tracks will be held, covering different aspects of Enterprise Information Systems Applications, including Enterprise Database Technology, Systems Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Analysis and Specification, Internet Computing, Electronic Commerce, Human Factors and Enterprise Architecture.
- Paper submission: 2012/01/25
- Conference: 2012/07/08 - 2012/07/11
Event-based systems are rapidly gaining importance in many application domains ranging from real time monitoring systems in production, logistics and networking to complex event processing in finance and security. The event based paradigm has gathered momentum as witnessed by current efforts in areas including event-driven architectures, complex event processing, business process management and modeling, Grid computing, Web services notifications, information dissemination, event stream processing, and message-oriented middleware. The various communities dealing with event based systems have made progress in different aspects of the problem. The DEBS conference attempts to bring together researchers and practitioners active in the various sub communities to share their views and reach a common understanding.
The 6th ACM International Conference on Distributed Event-Based Systems (DEBS) builds on the success of the previous five editions beginning in 2007. The DEBS Conference success is rooted in five editions of the DEBS workshops held from 2002 to 2006 in conjunction with major conferences such as ICDCS, ICSE, and SIGMOD/PODS. The conference has received full ACM sponsorship since 2009.
- Conference: 2012/07/16 - 2012/07/20
